Collaborating with Buren Dichtbij on a Special Video Project

I was recently approached by Stichting Buren Dichtbij, an inspiring foundation of four families who have formed a unique residential community on the ‘De Lindebelt’ estate in the rural area of Dalfsen. They sought my assistance with a special video project to capture the essence of their community and its mission.

Buren Dichtbij isn’t just a group of neighbors; it’s a close-knit community where independent homes encircle a former farm barn. Together, they share a vibrant yard complete with a vegetable garden, animal meadow, orchard, playground, and barn. Embracing the peace and space of the countryside, they foster a small and social environment within our often individualistic society, always looking out for one another.

The foundation was established out of a desire to offer a safe haven for young adults who temporarily need a supportive second home. Whether facing relationship challenges, mental health issues like autism or burnout, family difficulties, or transitioning from foster care to independence, these individuals find solace and community at Buren Dichtbij. Guided by their Christian convictions, the families are devoted to sharing their time and attention with those in need.

Working on this video project has been a profound experience. It’s been an honor to help Buren Dichtbij tell their story and showcase the incredible work they’re doing. I’m excited to share the final video soon and hope it will inspire others as much as it has inspired me.
