Our recent collaboration with Gulf Christian Services captures the heart of a rural community’s dedication to protecting its women and babies. This short film highlights the courageous choices made by everyday heroes in the Purari delta of Gulf Province, Papua New Guinea.

Miriam and Philip, graduates of the Kapuna Training School, are two such heroes. Trained as health workers through the Australia Awards in PNG scholarship program, their passion and commitment to serving the remote community of Poroi is inspiring. Working under the National Volunteer Service, they deliver critical healthcare services that are changing lives in this isolated region.

Their story, supported by a partnership between the PNG and Australian governments, is a testament to the collective efforts of many organizations coming together for a common cause. It’s about courage, resilience, and the power of community.
